Brimming with confidence, defending champions Super Falcons of Nigeria are confident of having a good outing as they kick off defense of the Women Africa Cup of Nations against Malawi, Tuesday.
Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade said the team is in high spirit and looking forward to the defense of the trophy they have won ten times.
“We had a good warm-up to the tournament. We are in high spirit and confident that we will do well,” said Ajibade.
The Super Falcons arrived in Rabat, Morocco, in style, carrying confidence and fresh momentum as they prepare to defend their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
The team made a memorable entrance in coordinated green-and-white tie-dye African outfits, complete with matching traditional headwraps.
They traveled to Rabat after completing a 10-day training camp in Casablanca, where they ended their preparations on a positive note with a 2-1 friendly win over Tanzania’s Twiga Stars.
The Super Falcons will play all three Group C matches in Rabat, beginning with a clash against Malawi’s Scorchers at the Al Madina Stadium on Tuesday.
