It was observed that even without the team’s top players, Super Eagles dominated play in Warsaw and could have scored more goals.

A Twitter account holder wrote: “If after this display, you still somehow have an agenda of any sort against Éric Chelle, then Thunder has every right to fire you at will. NFF, extend Éric Chelle’s contract. The Super Eagles played great, even better than Poland. We didn’t look like the away side at any point in the game. Poland didn’t break our defence; they scored two surprise goals. But respect to them.”

Another said, “We had two big chances to score in quick succession. Onuachu headed one wide, and Onyedika ballooned one over the bar. Philip Otele is such a silent worker, keeps things fucking simple, and still drops bodies effortlessly. A real baller there. Éric Chelle’s scouting is top-notch! Abdullahi Bewene is a freaking baller. He’s solid at the back (though still needs to work on his anticipation), and he’s a very intelligent dribbler. This is our back-up right-back there. Should I discuss Calvin Bassey? Nah.”
