Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA, representing Ogun West Senatorial District and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Ogun State, has facilitated prompt medical intervention for veteran Nollywood actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who is currently battling cancer.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the senator’s office confirmed that Senator Adeola personally reached out to leading oncology specialists to ensure the actor received immediate care.

Following the intervention, Mr. Hassan has been admitted and is presently undergoing treatment in the operating theatre at a specialized medical facility.

“Distinguished Senator Adeola remains committed to the welfare of citizens, including our cultural icons who have contributed immensely to national development,” the statement read. “The facilitation of this medical assistance underscores his dedication to ensuring that no Nigerian is denied access to critical healthcare due to delays.”

The family of the actor expressed gratitude to Senator Adeola for his swift response and to Nigerians for their prayers and support during this period.

The senator’s office further called on the public to continue to offer prayers for a successful procedure, full recovery, and renewed strength for the screen legend.

Mr. Hassan, a celebrated figure in the Nigerian film industry, is widely recognized for his decades of service to Nollywood and for roles that have inspired audiences across generations.

Further updates on his condition will be communicated as appropriate.
