Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has detonated a political bombshell, declaring that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Governor Rotimi Amaechi will not get 25% of votes in Rivers State in 2027.
Wike branded their alliance under the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as a “joint ticket of corruption” that is dead on arrival.

“Atiku Now Anti-Corruption Apostle?”
The former Rivers governor spoke with fire on Monday at a town hall meeting with Rumueme and Apara kingdoms in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Taking aim at Atiku, who recently urged Nigerians to collect money from the ruling party because it is stolen money, Wike scoffed:
“When I saw Atiku on television yesterday asking Nigerians to take any money given to them, that it will be stolen money, I said haa, Atiku is now an apostle of anti-corruption? The same Atiku that his boss, Obasanjo, described as corrupt and said his major regret was making him Vice-President is talking?”
He said adding Amaechi to the ticket only worsened a morally bankrupt combination built on self-service, not public good.
“My Job Is Tinubu’s Re-Election”
Wike said his only mission now is the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the President’s re-election. When I am eating, I think about the President’s re-election. Everything I am doing now is about the President’s re-election,” he declared.
He urged Rivers people to shun deceivers and reward Tinubu who has brought development and top appointments to the state.
“I know the re-election of Tinubu in 2027 will be easier than that of 2023. We should appreciate Tinubu and ensure massive votes for him. We can do it,” Wike said.
He also dismissed Peter Obi and other opposition figures as unelectable, warning his supporters not to be distracted.
“What will be, will be. You don’t need to kill yourself… Anything that God said would be, it would be.”
