Drama in Abuja as Federal Government tightens noose on alleged fraud kingpin!

The Federal Government has filed fresh charges against Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew, the self-styled Director General of fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), moving his trial from Federal High Court to FCT High Court for speedy prosecution.

AGF Uncovers Loopholes, Orders New Trial

In a dramatic twist on Monday before Justice Mohammed Umar of Federal High Court Abuja, Director of Public Prosecution of Federation, Oyedepo Rotimi SAN, announced that Attorney General of Federation reviewed the IGP’s charge and discovered loopholes.

Rotimi applied that the old charge be struck out, saying conspiracy and forgery charges against 38-year-old Adeyemi can be conveniently prosecuted at FCT High Court.

Defence counsel Ibrahim Angulu SAN did not object. Justice Umar struck out the charge immediately. New charge already filed at FCT High Court, arraignment soon.

Adeyemi remains in Kuje Prison.

How Fake DG Forged Tinubu’s Signature

Charges are mind-boggling. FG accused Adeyemi and accomplices Femi and Anu (now at large) of operating from 2nd Floor, Federal Secretariat Complex Abuja.

On March 8, 2024, he allegedly forged appointment letter claiming President Bola Tinubu appointed him, signed by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. He forged Presidential letterhead, forged request for collaboration with ministries, forged request for office space and land across 36 states, forged staff accounts approval and conveyance approval for take-off of Presidential Economic Advisory Council.

He also impersonated as DG of PFIPC between 2024 and 2025, punishable under Section 179 of Penal Code and Miscellaneous Offences Act.

A fake empire built on forged State House papers – now crashing before the law!
