The trauma in the kidnappers’den may have left a lasting trauma in the life of Oriire victims, as one of the children has been diagnosed with heart defect.
This was discovered during comprehensive medical check up carried out on all the abductees at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
Newsafricng.com scooped that 25 of the 39 pupils rescued have been discharged, while one of them has serious heart problem.
It is not disclosed if the child developed the ailment as a result of the inhuman treatment in the bush or not.
The source added that the remaining pupils and teachers still receiving treatment could be discharged on Wednesday, subject to medical clearance.
The source also revealed that one of the rescued pupils was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect during a comprehensive medical examination conducted by specialists.
According to the source, the child’s parents were unaware of the condition until the hospital carried out the evaluation.
He said, “The child’s parents were unaware of the condition before the medical examination.
“The child has a hole in the heart, which was discovered during our medical assessment. There is no cause for alarm because the child is stable and doing well.

“We have commenced the necessary medical procedures and will formally notify the Oyo State government to facilitate the next phase of treatment.”
The source, however, expressed optimism and assured parents and the public that the welfare of all the rescued children remains a top priority of the facility, adding that medical experts will continue to monitor their physical and psychological well-being as part of their post-rescue recovery process.
