Another AI-generated image of superstar C Ronaldo has surfaced on social media, specifically on X, linking the Saudi-based player to a conversion to Islam.
The new fake photo shows Ronaldo attending the Hajj in Makka alongside her partner, clad in the customary white as worn by Muslim on pilgrimage to the Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina.
Posted by @iliyaskhanu, the posting has gained traction with multiple reposts.
Similar false depictions have found spaces every year since Ronaldo moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, even though it has been condemned every year.
Last year, a similar photo was posted, which depicts Ronaldo and his long-time partner, Georgina Rodriguez, in Ihram while praying at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, sparking claims of their conversion to Islam.
However, it’s important to note that these images are AI-generated, leading to the conclusion that the claims of their conversion are false.
Fact
The viral images are AI-generated, and thus the claim that footballer Ronaldo and his partner have embraced to Islam is false.
Upon searching the news reports about Ronaldo embracing Islam, it also did not yield any positive results. However, some media reports citing an interview of Ronaldo’s ex-team mate in a TV interview claimed that Ronaldo “shows a deep interest in Islam”.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the ace footballer, has been playing for Al Nassr Football Club of Saudi Arabia since 2022.
