Drama and tension in Ogun!
The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State has broken its silence after its governorship candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, was shockingly omitted from the final list published by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
PDP Cries Foul, Points At Ruling Party
The party has alleged that unseen pressure from the ruling party forced INEC to delete Adebutu’s name from the ballot for the February 6, 2027 governorship election.
In a fiery statement titled ‘Omission of PDP Governorship Candidate from INEC List’ issued by its Publicity Secretary, Arc. Kayode Adebayo, the PDP declared that the omission was a calculated attempt to weaken its chances, driven by fear of losing the poll.
The party insisted the move will not stand and accused the ruling party of playing dirty politics to undermine democracy.

The party maintained that Adebutu never left the PDP and was duly registered within the designated period for digital membership registration. It said his membership card was printed, verified and submitted to INEC within the stipulated time.
The PDP expressed absolute confidence that INEC will correct the anomaly, publish Adebutu’s name, and that he will contest and win the 2027 governorship election.
The party urged residents, supporters and members across Ogun to remain calm, focused, steadfast and undeterred, insisting the omission will not derail its election preparations.
Battle Line Drawn For 2027
The reaction comes hours after INEC’s final list cleared 13 candidates in Ogun but excluded Adebutu and his deputy.
With the PDP now blaming the ruling party and vowing to reclaim its spot on the ballot, the stage is set for a fierce legal and political battle ahead of the 2027 showdown.
