The All Progressives Congress has raised its campaign tempo to a fever pitch for President Bola Tinubu and all its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a flurry of activities at the weekend, the party held a strategic National Working Committee meeting in Maiduguri, unleashed 50 campaign vehicles in Kano, and declared Edo a no-go area for the opposition.
The moves come as President Tinubu prepares to return from his working vacation tomorrow, with the stage now set for full-blown state-to-state presidential campaigns.
The NWC meeting, presided over by National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda in Maiduguri, ended with a declaration of total readiness for victory. The Presidential Campaign Council, led by Director-General Abdulaziz Yari, also intensified its message that Tinubu deserves a second term.
Rain Can’t Stop Zulum As Kano Gets 50 Vehicles
In Maiduguri, Governor Babagana Zulum defied a heavy downpour to kick off the 2027 mobilisation for Tinubu and the party’s governorship candidate Mustapha Gubio.
Zulum, who just returned from the United States, told a massive crowd at the Government House that continuity is key to sustaining peace in Borno.
“The peace we are enjoying today is a result of our collective resilience and the Federal Government’s support,” he declared, urging massive support for all APC candidates.

In Kano, the city with Nigeria’s highest voter turnout, Governor Abba Yusuf unveiled 50 campaign vehicles donated by the President Tinubu Door-to-Door Movement led by Chief Government Ekpemupolo, Tompolo.
The vehicles will be deployed across the 44 local government areas for grassroots mobilisation, a move described as critical to reaching every community.
No Opposition In Edo, Says APC
In Edo State, the APC Campaign Council boasted that there is no serious opposition left to challenge them.
Director of Media John Mayaki said 70 percent of PDP leaders in the state have defected to the APC, while others have retired from politics. He was reacting to criticisms of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s bold target of delivering 2.5 million votes for Tinubu in Edo.
Mayaki said the target is an aspiration that will drive unit-by-unit mobilisation from state to polling units.
The Pitch For Second Term
The PCC said the 2027 poll is a choice between reform and retrogression. Spokesman Mallam Alwan Hassan said Tinubu took the hard but necessary decisions — ending fuel subsidy and unifying the forex market — to save Nigeria from fiscal collapse.
He cited NELFUND student loans, tripling of FAAC allocations, over N3 trillion telecoms investment, and rehabilitation of 4,000 health centres as proof of progress, urging Nigerians not to abandon the journey halfway.
