Osun state government has kept mum after a flyover commissioned 23 days ago by Governor Ademola Adeleke has collapsed.
The 672-meter flyover at the Lameco area of Osogbo constructed at the cost of N8,521,632,257.28, was commissioned on July 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, a portion of the flyover collapsed in the early hours of Friday after rain fell in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
The noticeable depression on the flyover raised concern among motorists and commuters who have since taken alternative routes.
When our correspondent visited the flyover, the damaged area, located on one lane of the bridge, showed visible cracks and a sunken asphalt surface, forcing motorists to slow down while navigating the affected stretch.

Commuters expressed fears over the safety of the road and urged the authorities to carry out immediate repairs to prevent further deterioration.
Subsequently, the flyover was cordoned off as armed men of the Amotekun corps manned the bridge to prevent entry and exit or people gaining access to the bridge.
Officials of the Osun State Government had yet to issue an official statement on the development as of the time of filing this report.
