Frank Lampard walks into the Emirates with a problem — and a prayer. Coventry’s trip to north London on Friday night just got a whole lot harder after talisman Haji Wright was ruled out with a serious quad injury.

“Won’t be available for a little while,” Lampard confirmed. “It’s certainly going to be a number of weeks, could even be up to 12 weeks. Disappointing for Haji and for us.”

Wright Blow Forces Lampard’s Hand
Wright’s absence rips the heart out of Coventry’s attack. He was the man who delivered the goals that fired them to the Championship title, and now Arsenal’s defense won’t have to worry about him.

That leaves Lampard scrambling. The likely answer? A Nigerian derby up front. Either Ellis Simms or Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to lead the line. Awoniyi, with Premier League experience, brings power. Simms brings pace and a point to prove. One of them has to step up on the biggest stage.

New Faces And Fitness Boosts
It’s not all doom. Ephron Mason-Clark and Jack Rudoni are back in contention after knocks, and Frank Onyeka will be assessed late. New signings Carl Rushworth, Aurele Amenda, Caleb Yirenkyi and Loum Tchaouna could all debut.

Luke Woolfenden remains out. But with fresh legs arriving and an attack to rebuild, Lampard will hope Coventry can shock Arsenal anyway.
