Relief for Lagos pilgrims. The price of faith just got lighter.
The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced ₦7,882,822.00 as the final package for intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj in Saudi Arabia — a slight dip from the ₦7.9 million paid last year.
“NAHCON Chairman Delivered The Cut”
Board Secretary, Mr. AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, credited the reduction to Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, Chairman/CEO of NAHCON.
“The credit for this reduction goes to the NAHCON Chairman, who since assuming office has pledged to work towards reducing the Hajj fare and making the exercise seamless for Nigerian pilgrims,” Ajomagberin said.

According to the Board, the drop signals a push to make the holy journey less burdensome for families already battling high costs at home.
September 26 Deadline: Pay Early, Secure Your Spot
Ajomagberin urged intending pilgrims to complete payment on or before September 26, 2026, the deadline set by NAHCON.
Early payment, he explained, will give the Board enough time to process travel documents within the strict timeline issued by Saudi authorities. Delay, he warned, could mean missing the flight to the Holy Land.
What Lagos Is Promising In The Holy Land
Lagos said it is not just selling a ticket — it is selling comfort.
The state government reaffirmed it will provide standard accommodation, daily meals with local delicacies, comfortable local transport, and organised Ziyarah to historic sites in Makkah and Madinah.
Pilgrims will also get adequate medical care, payment of Basic Travel Allowance, and support for the slaughtering of Hadayah rams.
For 2027, the message from Alausa is clear: fewer naira, same devotion, better care.
