The mood in Istanbul flipped in a heartbeat.
One minute Victor Osimhen was leading Galatasaray’s line like a general. The next, he was down, holding his right groin, and walking off in the 33rd minute against Başakşehir.
The stadium held its breath. Fans knew what it meant. When Osimhen hurts, Galatasaray hurts.
The Turkish champions moved fast. Treatment began immediately on the pitch and continued through the night. But this is not a knock you can rub away.
The club released a statement this morning confirming what everyone feared: both Osimhen and Gabon midfielder Mario Lemina suffered strain and pain in their right adductor muscles during Matchday 4 of the Trendyol Super Lig.
