Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has thrown his full weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term, declaring that the next four years under Tinubu will make Nigeria “stronger and fairer.”
Speaking to a charged crowd at Alex Ekwueme Square on Thursday, Soludo framed the endorsement as both political and practical, linking federal reforms directly to what is happening in Anambra communities right now.

Soludo did not mince words about the pain of the last two years. He said Tinubu inherited an economy in crisis and had to carry out what he called an emergency surgical operation.
“A cancer patient will obviously feel the pains of surgery, but the patient is guaranteed not to die of the cancer,” the governor told supporters.
He pointed to macroeconomics, infrastructure restructuring, security and human capital as areas where he sees impact already, even if many Nigerians are still complaining.
“I see hope with the Renewed Hope agenda,” Soludo said. “I’m convinced that the next four years of President Tinubu will most probably and certainly see a stronger and fairer Nigeria.”
5,000 Anambra families get grants and tools
The endorsement came during the flag-off of the Statewide Empowerment Programme led by the governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo.
Across Anambra’s 21 local government areas, 5,000 beneficiaries received business grants, vocational tools and equipment for agriculture, agro-processing, beauty care and small-scale enterprises.
Soludo said the state is working to cascade federal reforms down to the grassroots so that nobody is left behind.
Progressives must work together
The governor also made a case for political alignment. APGA, he noted, was founded in 2002, 12 years before the APC, and “even in APC, there’s part of APGA DNA.”
“In Anambra, progressives are working together. This is not just a slogan, it’s a statement of truth,” he said.
He added that APGA legislators at the federal level are already cooperating with the APC caucus, and that the partnership between APGA, the Federal Government and APC “works.”
He praised his wife’s support for the First Lady’s empowerment programmes as another sign that progressive forces can deliver shared prosperity.
