It is very unfortunate that in recent times in Nigeria most political parties are giving tickets to the mediocre and those who don’t know the significance of holding public offices.

In fact, most of them thought holding public office was basically to steal money and abuse powers.

What is even more common in Nigeria now is godfather-ism. That’s people who see themselves as political bigwigs maneuvering their ways and putting their stooges in power so that they can dictate to them what to do, even if it is against the wishes of the man and people. They don’t care so long as they will be benefitting from it.

It is disheartening to note that many people elect people to represent them in their respective constituencies in any of the legislative houses: the House of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Senate.
But it will also surprise you that most of them will be in there without making any valuable contribution or effectively representing their constituencies, invariably denying their constituencies dividends of democracy.

All they know was to enjoy the free air conditioner, sometimes sleep in the chamber, and earn fat salaries and allowances.

That was the reason why the Labour Party (LP) carefully gave the Rivers East senatorial ticket to chief Comrade Beatrice Itubo to salvage the people of her senatorial district, which is Emohua, Okrika, Ogu/Bolo
Ikwerre, Port Harcourt, Omuma
Obio/Akpor, Etche Local government areas.

The people of the senatorial district are very excited that they now have a credible candidate that will represent them effectively and efficiently.

Consequently, they have vowed to massively vote for her to win.

Chief Comrade Beatrice Itubo is a mother and married happily.

She was the chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) Rivers State branch for two successful tenures of eight years.

During her tenure as chairman of MHWUN, the state members of the union were happy, as her administration was characterized by an open-door policy, transparency, and accountability. She didn’t discriminate against anybody, as she treated every member equally without sentiment or bias.

It is on record that her achievements within the period cannot be measured with the previous administrations; till today she is still receiving commendations.

Chief Itubo’s achievements in MHWUN occasioned labor leaders electing her as Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Rivers State Branch. She exhibited the same administrative style that made workers delight in the State.

Even as chairman of NLC, her humility and general life disposition are worthy of emulation. Her reward for excellent performance gave her second tenure.

Again in 2023 under the same party, she ran as a governorship candidate in Rivers State.

Chief Itubo is really a mother and very compassionate.

That is why we in the Rivers East senatorial district are happy that she got the LP ticket. We have resolved to ensure that she wins the election in Jan 2027.

We are not only voting for her, but we will defend our votes to avoid election manipulation and rigging.

Speaking in one of her interviews, she pledged to develop her constituency in all ramifications.

According to her, she ensures that members of our constituency enjoy dividends of democracy, and adding people will feel her representation because she attracts meaningful projects to her constituency.
