Samuel Chukwueze stole the spotlight in Wrocław as AC Milan fought back from two deficits to beat Manchester United 4-2 in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The Nigerian winger scored once and set up two more, finishing with a direct hand in 3 of Milan’s 4 goals. He opened Milan’s account in the 37th minute from Gonçalo Ramos’ pass, before later assisting Ramos and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to complete the turnaround.
United started fast with Harry Maguire heading in after just 2 minutes, and Patrick Dorgu restored their lead early in the second half. But Milan responded quickly — Alphadjo Cissé equalized, Ramos put them ahead, and Loftus-Cheek added a fourth. Lorenzo Torriani also saved a Bruno Fernandes penalty for Milan.
For Chukwueze, it was a perfect audition under new boss Ruben Amorim. His pace, creativity and end product suggest he could have a big role this season.
For United, it’s a frustrating end to pre-season, though the game carried extra emotion for Amorim facing his former club.
