A quiet morning in Kpakungu area of Minna, Niger State, turned into a scene of horror when a 28-year-old woman allegedly slashed her husband’s manhood with a sharp object during a fierce domestic clash.

The suspect, Safiya Tukur, has now been remanded in custody over the bloody incident that has left residents of Darusalam in shock.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on October 15, 2026, at the couple’s residence in Darusalam, Kpakungu.

According to police account, what started as a mere misunderstanding between the couple quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

In the heat of the fight, Safiya allegedly grabbed a sharp object and inflicted a deep cut on her husband’s private parts, leaving him bleeding profusely.

He was later rushed to the General Hospital, Minna, for emergency treatment after a complaint was lodged at the Kpakungu Divisional Police Headquarters around 1 p.m. the same day.

Police officers immediately swung into action and arrested Safiya Tukur shortly afterwards.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to wounding her husband in the heat of the argument, police said.

Police Confirm Remand

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect has been charged to court.

He said she has been remanded in custody pending continuation of her trial.

The police spokesman warned couples to seek peaceful means of resolving domestic disputes rather than resorting to violence that could lead to tragic consequences.
