Serena Williams said she got tired of sitting at home hence her return to the tennis court.

Serena Williams, 44, makes a winning return to tennis with an impressive victory in the women’s doubles at Queen’s.

The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion and teenage partner Victoria Mboko won 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 on a packed Andy Murray Arena

“In December I definitely was not (planning the comeback),” Williams told reporters.

“And then I was just talking to a few people and just, you know, chatting about different possibilities and just having fun.

“You know, something a little bit different. And so I just kept talking and talking, and then I was like, well, why not?”
