Erling Haaland just did the one thing no one saw coming.
Hours before Manchester City kick off their 2026/27 Premier League campaign against Bournemouth, the Golden Boot king dropped a surprise on Instagram that had nothing to do with goals.
Gone are the flowing blonde locks that have followed him from Dortmund to Manchester. In their place: a sharp, no-nonsense buzzcut.
Haaland posted a carousel of selfies on Sunday morning, capturing every stage of the trim.
The caption said it all: “Short hair don’t care.” Minutes later he followed with a before-and-after video, the transformation so sudden it looked like a filter. Even City’s official account jumped in, dropping his own catchphrase in the comments: “Nice.”
For years Haaland’s hair was part of the brand. The Viking mane, the headband, the goals. Supporters will now have to get used to a cleaner, leaner version of No. 9 running at defenders.
Guardiola Loses It On The Call
Haaland wasn’t done. He pulled out his phone and rang the one man who knows him best: Pep Guardiola.

He uploaded the full reaction to YouTube. Pep answers, sees the screen, and immediately cracks up.
“No way!” Guardiola shouted. “You are lucky you have hair, I would love to have it!”
New Season, New Haaland?
Coincidence? Probably not. New season, new look, same predator.
City fans are already debating it online. Is this Haaland 2.0? A reset? A statement? One thing is certain. He walked into 2026/27 lighter on top and still heavy on goals.
