Tobi Amusan pockets N13.5 million ($10,000) for winning the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday with 12.28s and broke the meeting record.

In Rabat 2026, she’d be looking at $10,000 for the win, plus Diamond League points. If she makes the Diamond League Final in Zurich and wins there, the Final prize jumps to $30,000. 5bf8

She’s now got max points on the circuit after podium finishes in Shanghai + Xiamen too.

The 29-year-old beat Devynne Charlton (12.40s) and Nadine Visser (12.47s) to claim the win.

It is the second time Amusan has won the 100m hurdles race at the Rabat Diamond League.

Her winning time of 12.28s breaks the event’s meeting record of 12.45s she had set last season. It is also her first Diamond League this season, improving on third and second place finish in the first two races of the season.

Amusan also matched her season’s best time in Morocco.

She reacted faster to the gun in Rabat from her lane four position, and matched Charlton’s time over the first two hurdles, before having the edge by the time she scaled the third hurdle.

“Tobi Express” was in full flight afterwards and accelerated into the lead in subsequent hurdles.

They would further break away from the pack with three hurdles to spare, and had a look at the clock while crossing the finish line to claim the victory.

Amusan will continue her impressive start to the season in the next Wanda Diamond League meet set for the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea in Rome, Italy on June 4.
