US President Donald Trump decided not to make any reference to the 4-1 dumping of the USA out of the World Cup.

Instead, Trump opted to talk about US Military might, even as the USA team were mocked by football fans on social media.

The US team lost 4-1 to Belgium in the round of 16 on Monday, July 6, in Seattle.

“The United States Military has never been stronger. No other Nation can do what we do (It’s not even close!),” he said in a post on Truth Social after the match.

“This year, we set even more Historic Recruiting Records, months ahead of schedule. Morale has never been higher.

“Our Military’s unmatched POWER was on full display during our Celebration of 250 Years of American Independence and, like our Country, the WAR DEPARTMENT has never been “HOTTER.”

“We need to keep it that way, which is why, when Congress returns, we must pass Reconciliation 3.0, with 350 Billion Dollars for Defense, plus THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!”

Trump went on to speak about the “Save America Act”, but did not comment on his country’s World Cup defeat.

The loss comes after his call with FIFA boss Gianni Infantino over a red ban for the USMNT’s star striker.

The US president urged Infantino to review a red card given to Folarin Balogun in the Round-of-32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Balogun should have been automatically banned from the game against Belgium after being sent off in his previous game.

However, after Trump and Andrew Giuliani, executive director of the White House’s World Cup task force, spoke to Infantino by phone, the automatic one-match suspension was postponed.
