A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has declared that the North-West has made up its mind on 2027, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains its choice.
Kwankwaso said the mammoth crowd that stormed Kaduna on Saturday for the APC presidential campaign flag-off is a clear and loud statement that the North-West is firmly behind Tinubu’s re-election.
Speaking with journalists at the VIP Pavilion on the sidelines of the rally, he said the massive turnout has put to rest all doubts about where the region stands.
“Today, we of the North-West geopolitical zone have spoken loud and clear on who we stand for. Our choice of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains our commitment to a better Nigeria and national cohesion,” he declared.
Tinubu Stands For Equity And Unity
Kwankwaso said the endorsement was not based on sentiment but on national interest, equity and the President’s commitment to fair distribution of resources.
He maintained that Tinubu’s re-election would consolidate ongoing efforts to ensure balanced development across the six geopolitical zones.
“Tinubu’s presidency stands for fair and equitable distribution of resources to all zones, and his return will be a blessing to the greater Nigeria of our dream,” he said.
According to him, the President has shown a clear determination to carry every region along and promote national unity.
Asiwaju Is The Northern Candidate
Dismissing insinuations that the North’s support is transactional, Kwankwaso insisted that the North-West is known for keeping its word and will deliver Tinubu in 2027.
“Asiwaju is the northern candidate, and he will not promote anything outside his ambition because we are trustworthy people, and we shall deliver him come 2027,” he stated.
He urged political stakeholders across the country to rise above narrow interests and place national unity, stability and collective development above personal ambitions.
He said the Kaduna rally has sent an unmistakable political message that the North-West will remain solidly behind President Tinubu.
