Onuachu Ends Drought in Style
Paul Onuachu had waited. Three league games without a goal, and the pressure was building. He did not wait long on Sunday. In the 5th minute the Nigerian giant rose and struck, finally breaking his league duck. He was not done. By the 22nd minute, after a slick feed from Wagner Pina, Onuachu slammed home his second. A brace, a roar, and Trabzonspor went into half-time 3-0 up and in total control.
Salah Runs the Show from the Spot
If Onuachu provided the power, Mohamed Salah provided the poetry. The Egyptian converted a 14th minute penalty to make it 2-0, then kept pulling the strings all afternoon. With that goal, Salah hit four in four league games. According to Opta, he is the first foreign player since 2000/01 to score in each of his first three starts for Trabzonspor. Dju Arrives and Announces Himself
The second half brought more pain for Gençlerbirliği. Ernest Muçi added a fourth before the real story of the day walked on. Franculino Dju, signed from Midtjylland on September 2, made his debut and wasted zero time. The Guinea-Bissau winger scored to cap the 5-0 demolition.
