It was a Super Sunday filled with drama, wonder goals and pressure piling up as four huge Premier League games went down on Sunday, October 18.
Brighton 5-0 Crystal Palace: Seagulls Destroy Rivals In Historic Rout
Brighton produced the performance of the weekend, hammering Crystal Palace 5-0 at the Amex Stadium — their biggest win over Palace since 1956.
Fabian Hurzeler’s men exploded out of the blocks with three goals in 10 minutes. Jaydee Canvot turned into his own net in the 4th minute, Diego Gomez scored a stunning 50-metre lob from the halfway line in the 7th minute — reminiscent of David Beckham — and Yasin Ayari made it 3-0 in the 10th.
The rout was completed by Charalampos Kostoulas in the 65th and Jack Hinshelwood in the 78th minute. Brighton have now scored 23 goals in 7 games and sit 4th on the table. Palace slump to their fifth loss of the season.
Leeds United 1-1 Manchester United: Pressure Mounts On Carrick
Manchester United ended a turbulent week with a frustrating 1-1 draw at fierce rivals Leeds United at Elland Road.
Bryan Mbeumo gave United a 35th-minute lead, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin levelled six minutes after the break.

Lisandro Martinez started days after his headline-grabbing Champions League outburst but was hooked at half-time.
Michael Carrick’s side have now won just one of their first seven league games and sit 13th on the table with 6 points. Under-pressure Carrick called the point “a platform to build on.”
Bournemouth 2-0 Sunderland: Cherries Finally Off The Mark
Bournemouth claimed their first Premier League win of the season with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sunderland at the Vitality Stadium.
Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring in the 13th minute before Evanilson sealed it with 15 minutes left. Sunderland remain without a win in three.
Nottingham Forest 0-1 Arsenal: Madueke’s Late Winner Keeps Gunners In Title Hunt
Arsenal closed out the day with a hard-fought 1-0 win away at Nottingham Forest, thanks to substitute Noni Madueke.
Mikel Arteta’s side had to dig deep at the City Ground and were heading for a frustrating draw after failing to register a shot on target for 80 minutes.
Arteta threw on Madueke at half-time for Eberechi Eze and the change paid off in the 80th minute. Declan Rice switched play to the left, Madueke cut inside Daniel Munoz with quick stepovers and unleashed a fierce right-footed strike that took a crucial deflection off Forest defender Jair Cunha, wrong-footing keeper Matz Sels and nestling in the net.
It was Arsenal’s first shot on target and proved to be the winner, keeping them second on the table and within touching distance of perfect leaders Manchester City.
Action continues Monday night, where Tottenham host Coventry City to round off Matchday 7.
