Nigeria government, on Wednesday, arraigned two commanders of the Ansaru terrorist organization and their three cohorts, for terrorism, kidnapping and beheading two teachers of schools in Oriire LGA of Oyo State.

The five suspects were arraigned before Justice Salim Ibrahin of the federal high Court, Abuja.

The judge adjourned the matter to September 24 for the commencement of trial. He ordered that the five men remain in the custody of the DSS.

In August 2025, DSS operatives captured top Mahmuda commanders, Abubakar Abba Mahmuda Abu Bara’a and Abubakar Abbas aka Mallam Mahmuda Al-Nigeri.

Weeks ago, during the rescue of the Oriire captives, the DSS captured three more persons linked to the terror attack and Ansaru organization.
