Spain made Argentina looked ordinary, outplaying them from beginning to end of the 2026 World Cup final.

The scoreline 1-0 indeed didn’t tell the story well as the European Champions had over 20 shots at goal as against Argentina’s one.

Lionel Messi was no where at his best as Spain inspired by Yamal scored the lone goal through Torres.

Spain got the second ever World Cup after an extra time goal in a hard fought game against the 2022 World Champions.

The first half ended 0-0 and was tight with Spain having the majority of the possession and shots.

The second half was the same with Argentina recording zero shots in 90 minutes.

Spain continued the pressure in extra time and got the breakthrough in the second half of extra time after a brilliant strike by Ferran Torres.

Spain substitute Ferran Torres scored in the 106th minute to give his team a 1-0 win over defending champion Argentina in the World Cup final on Sunday.

Spain was absolutely dominant in terms of possession and shot attempts. Messi and Argentina found a way to hang on and force extra time — but barely.

And in the opening moment of the second 15-minute period of extra time, Torres pounced on a bouncing ball in the box and used his left foot to bury a shot just under the crossbar and into the back of the net.
