The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and raided a hideout allegedly used to hold victims in Dogon Pako Village, Ikara Local Government Area.
The arrests were made on Tuesday, August 11, after an escaped kidnap victim gave police a detailed account of where he was held. The breakthrough was also aided by tips from residents, according to the command.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the victim specifically identified the home of 65-year-old Ja’e Samalu as the location of his captivity.
Acting on the information, the Divisional Police Officer in Ikara mobilized operatives alongside members of the Vigilante Service and stormed the property. Six people were taken into custody during the raid.

Those arrested are: Ja’e Samalu, 65; Abdul-Aziz Musa, alias “Kire”, 35; Jafar Isah, 25; Yunusa Musa, 22; Shu’aibu Musa, 20; and Rakiya Samalu, 50. Police allege that Rakiya, described as the mother of some of the suspects, acted as caretaker of the captive.
The command said all six suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue. Authorities are working to determine each suspect’s role and to track down other members of the alleged kidnapping network.
Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Rabiu, praised the officers and community members for their quick action. He urged residents to remain alert and report suspicious movement or unfamiliar persons to the nearest police station.
CP Rabiu also warned criminals against using residential buildings as holding facilities, stressing that community vigilance remains key to breaking kidnapping rings in the state.
