It was not close. Governor Ademola Adeleke has secured a decisive second term in the 2026 Osun State governorship election, coasting to victory in 20 of the state’s 30 local government areas while APC’s Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, managed 10.

When the last collation sheet was signed, the numbers told the story of a landslide.

The final tally:

  • Accord Party – Ademola Adeleke: 511,067 votes
  • APC – Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO): 444,815 votes
  • ADC – Najeem Salaam: 17,180 votes

Adeleke’s victory map stretched across Osun’s heartland. He dominated in his Ede base with Ede North pulling 35,427 votes to APC’s 10,283, and Ede South delivering 26,188 to 6,219. The capital Osogbo also went big for the incumbent with 36,480 votes.

Other key wins for Adeleke came in Ife East with 27,201 votes, Iwo with 27,085 votes, Ife Central with 21,171 votes, and Oriade with 21,343 votes. He also carried Boluwaduro, Ife North, Ilesa West, Ifedayo, Orolu, Odo-Otin, Ifelodun, Ila, Aiyedire, Egbedore, Aiyedade and Ejigbo.

AMBO was not shut out. The APC candidate dug in and won 10 councils, including strong showings in Irewole with 29,972 votes, Olorunda with 24,671 votes, and Boripe with 19,963 votes. He also took Ilesa East, Irepodun, Obokun, Atakunmosa West, Atakunmosa East, Isokan, Ola Oluwa, Ife South.

ADC’s Najeem Salaam finished third statewide with 17,180 votes, with his best outing in Ejigbo where he pulled 5,053 votes.

How the key LGAs broke down:

Ede North LG
Accord: 35,427 | APC: 10,283 | ADC: 307

Osogbo LG
Accord: 36,480 | APC: 30,474 | ADC: 1,503

Ife East LG
Accord: 27,201 | APC: 18,600 | ADC: 935

Iwo LG
Accord: 27,085 | APC: 19,660 | ADC: 588

Irewole LG
APC: 29,972 | Accord: 10,934 | ADC: 275

Olorunda LG
APC: 24,671 | Accord: 23,514 | ADC: 666

With 20 LGAs in the bag, Adeleke crossed the line comfortably and early. The result hands Accord Party a fresh mandate in Osun and sets the stage for what the governor called “the continuation of good governance for our people.”

For AMBO and the APC, the 10 LGA wins show pockets of strong support, but not enough to stop the Adeleke wave that swept across the state.
