Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola has reportedly acquired a mansion in London for £53 million, thereby further expanding his portfolio of luxury assets within the United Kingdom.
According to Bloomberg, the ten-bedroom residence is situated in St John’s Wood, a prestigious neighborhood in London that is located in proximity to Regent’s Park.
Reports indicate that the acquisition was finalized late last year, as documented in a UK filing. Completed in 2016, the mansion is equipped with high-end amenities, which include a cinema, spa, and cigar room. It was previously listed for £75 million in 2020.
Otedola holds the positions of chairman and majority shareholder of First HoldCo Plc, a significant Nigerian financial institution with diverse interests in energy, finance, shipping, and insurance brokerage.
This transaction underscores the sustained interest in the luxury property market in London, despite the increasing taxes and policy changes that are affecting foreign investors.
Prime locations, such as St John’s Wood, Belgravia, and Chelsea, continue to attract affluent international buyers. Furthermore, the report notes that several prominent Nigerian business figures have recently been linked to high-value real estate transactions in London.
Notably, in 2025, Roosevelt Ogbonna reportedly acquired a property in Hampstead for £15 million.
